Lagom Retreat – Dripping Springs, Texas – Established 2023
Lagom, pronounced ‘lah-gom,’ is a Swedish philosophy and tradition focused on finding your "just right."
It is the art of finding out what you consider to be a balanced life across work, socializing, relaxing, and being by yourself. Lagom encourages responsible consumption, work-life integration, and a harmonious connection with the environment.
As a fourth-generation Texas-Swede, this inspired me to create Lagom Retreat. I believe that spending time in nature is important and that sometimes getting away for a while can help us reconnect and recharge.

Our Vision
We help others reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other. We believe that to do this, the experience needs to be both semi-accessible and somewhat secluded. Balance is important.
And, in the Swedish tradition of “just right,” we hope to help craft meaningful experiences while blending Scandinavian-inspired design with nature in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it”.
We support responsible travel to natural places and do our part to preserve our environment and contribute to reforestation. We use organic materials, avoid single-use plastics and chemicals where possible, and maintain a mindset around a light footprint to protect the environment.

We’re committed to creating an inclusive space where people of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities can find balance and belonging. We celebrate diversity and stand against racism, discrimination, and exclusion. Our event center is wheelchair accessible, and in our next phase, we are excited to offer our first wheelchair-accessible cabin.

Questions.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check in at 3:00 pm, check out at 11:00 am. We offer some early check-in and late check-out options as well.
Do you have Wi-Fi and cell service?
Yes! We have complimentary Wifi and cell service available throughout our entire property and within every cabin.
Is there heating and A/C in the cabins?
Yes, all cabins are temperature-controlled with heating and cooling systems that you control. For those cabins with large doors and window openings, we ask that you turn off the systems when leveraging the natural air.
Are kids welcome at Lagom?
Yes! With plenty of space to roam and larger cabin options, Lagom is a great place for kids. But we do ask that everyone respect noise policies, maintain privacy boundaries, and use overall common courtesy.
Can I bring my pet? Is there a pet fee or restriction?
Yes! We welcome dog companions only, up to 2 dogs per stay, with a $200 non-refundable pet fee. Service animals are always welcome at no charge, in compliance with ADA regulations. Dogs must be house-trained, non-aggressive, current on vaccinations, and may not be left unattended unless crated. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and for any damages incurred or additional cleaning required.
Is the property fenced?
Yes, our 37-acre property is surrounded by fencing; beware that some is barbed wire.
What are the food options on-site?
There is no restaurant on-site, but we have grab-and-go food, a coffee bar, and an outdoor beer and wine bar at the on-site store. We can help plan and arrange for catered meals and food trucks for events and larger groups.
Can I bring my own alcohol or food?
Yes! Please feel free to bring what you might want to enjoy during your stay. There are kitchenettes in the cabins with a refrigerator and versatile microwave, and oven combo. The Homestead cabin has a full-size kitchen, and all cabins have access to a propane grill for use.
How far are you from Austin?
The property is a short 30-mile drive from Austin.
Is there parking available for all cabins?
Yes, we have a main parking lot and additional spots throughout the property. Not all cabins have spots. Therefore, we encourage you to drop off your bags and then go park in the main parking lot to keep the retreat pedestrian traffic only.
Do you have EV chargers?
Yes, we offer three level-1 EV chargers for our guests at the main parking lot for our guests to use while staying with us.
Do you allow campfires or grilling?
Yes! Each cabin has a fire pit and a propane grill. The only restriction is for local fire bans.
Are fire pits available year-round?
Yes, unless there is a fire ban in place.
Are there bugs/snakes/wildlife to watch out for?
Lagom is in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, so you may encounter wildlife native to the area. Our team maintains the land, but nature is always present. Being aware of your surroundings and a can of bug repellent should do the trick.
Are there TVs in the cabins?
No, we purposely do not have TVs. However, there is free Wifi in all cabins and community spaces to stream from your own device.
How do I get around the property?
Lagom is a walkable property with nature trails off the main road to each cabin. In some cases, a cabin will have parking directly adjacent. Our road loops around the full site, as well as nature trails throughout. If there is no parking at your cabin, we can help you with a golf cart to get your luggage to and from your cabin.
